I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT A PRODUCT
DOES THE BOOMBOX CONTAIN PSILOCYBIN OR PSYILOCYBE CUBENSIS SPORES?
It does not.
WHERE CAN I GET PSYILOCYBE CUBENIS SPORES?
We do not and cannot provide this information. However an internet search will yield plenty of answers to this question.
WHAT EXACTLY IS INCLUDED WITH THE BOOMBOX?
1x Fruiting Tub, 1x 1lb Grain Cube, 3x Master’s Mix Fruiting Substrate, 3x Fruiting Tub Liners, QR code instructions.
WHAT ARE THE GRAIN BAGS MADE UP OF?
Our grain cubes are made of hydrated sterile wheat berries that we cook with gypsum (1.25% by dry weight of grain to be precise).
DO YOUR PRODUCTS CONTAIN GLUTEN AND ARE THEY VEGAN?
Yes, our products contain gluten and are vegan.
CAN THE BOOMBOX OR GRAIN BAG BE STORED BEFORE USE AND DO THEY EXPIRE?
All products are made by hand-in house within a few days of placing your order. Fungi Fanatics grain bags (the only expire-able ingredient) have a stable non-refrigerated shelf life of ten days if kept out of the sun and in a cool, dark location. Each bag is labeled with an expiration date. We do not recommend using the grain if it is past that date.
If you’ve purchased The Trifecta, or have more than one grain bag, we recommend inoculating all of the grain bags at once, because completely colonized grain will last much longer than uncolonized grain. You can then store the colonized grain bag - just deflate the air out of the bag, seal it with tape, and pop it in your fridge.
I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT USING THE BOOMBOX
DO THE MUSHROOMS NEED SUNLIGHT?
The mushrooms do not require sunlight. However, some light, whether it's a light bulb or natural, is encouraged for triggering the pinning stage. Psilocybe cubensis are phototropic, they grow in the direction of light.
WHAT ARE THE BEST GROWING TEMPERATURES FOR MY MUSHROOMS?
70F is cold. 82F is hot. 78F is ideal.
WHY SHOULD I WIPE DOWN THE OUTSIDE OF THE GRAIN BAG BEFORE INNOCULATING?
This is just to limit any sort of bacteria or dirt or grime that came into contact with the bag throughout its travels.
WHERE SHOULD I PUT MY BOOMBOX?
Anyplace in your home that will be out of direct sunlight, but will remain warm. Our favorite places are on top of kitchen cupboards, on top of the fridge and in the bathroom.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR MY MUSHROOMS TO GROW?
6-7 weeks. Initially, it should take 3-4 weeks to colonize one full grain cube after you inoculation it with spore. After that, it should take another two weeks for the BoomBox to be to colonized with hyphal knots. In one more week, pins should develop and enlarge to mature mushroom fruitbodies.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COLONIZE THE GRAIN BAG?
It should take 3-4 weeks to colonize from spores.
O NO! I OPENED THE GRAIN BAG. WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW?
Do your best to seal the bag with duct tape. Opening the bag will drastically increase your chances of contamination and failure. If your grain bag is fully colonized, simply seal it up the best you can; your chances of contamination are very slim if it is fully colonized with mycelium.
WHY DOES THE GRAIN BAG APPEAR TO NO LONGER BE VACUUM SEALED?
Once germination sets in and mycelium is growing, it exhales CO2 and will slightly inflate the bag. This is actually a good thing.
THE FRUITING SUBSTRATE AND WATER IS NOT MIXING WELL, WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Just wait about 15 minutes, it will absorb nicely and should be easily mixable. Make sure there are no dry clumps.
O NO! I OPENED THE BOOMBOX TUB DURING COLONIZATION. WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW?
HEY! Stop it. It is not the end of the world, but cut it out. The mycelium needs the high levels of CO2 during colonization to grow quicker and stronger.
MY HYPHAL KNOTS ARE TAKING LONGER THAN TWO WEEKS, WHAT CAN I DO?
If the substrate surface appears to be yellowing or drying, this could be your problem. If there is no condensation on the inside of the BoomBox during the second week of colonization, then you are at risk of drying out the substrate. Start misting one or more times a day after the surface is fully colonized white. Also consider moving your BoomBox to a less dry location. If the substate looks fine, be patient. You may have placed your BoomBox in a slightly cooler location.
HOW SHOULD I MIST THE MUSHROOM PINS?
If you see visible tiny droplets of water all over the surface of the colonized substrate, the pins do not need to be misted. If you do not see the water droplets on the substrate, mist at least one or more times per day as needed. Do not mist more than 10 sprits at a time.
WHAT DOES CONTAMINATION LOOK LIKE?
Contamination can come in many forms. Molds will often be green or black and sometimes yellow. When bacterial growth is present, your grain bag will be over-inflated and the grains will become darker and begin to look milky and wet, typically near the bottom of the bag. HOW CAN I AVOID CONTAMINATION?
Keep temperatures as close to 78F as possible during colonization. DO NOT inject more than 3mL of spore syringe as excess water in the grain creates a higher chance of bacteria forming.
WHEN ARE THE MUSHROOMS READY TO BE PICKED?
Harvest about one week after the pinning stage, just before the underside (veil) of the cap is torn and gills are visible. If you do not harvest at this ideal time, you can pick them any time after.
HOW DO I STORE MY HARVESTED MUSHROOMS?
If you plan to use them right away, store them in the refrigerator. For long term storage, we recommend drying, packaging and placing in the freezer.
WILL MUSHROOMS CONTINUE TO GROW AFTER HARVEST?
Yes! You should expect a second flush 7-8 days after your first harvest. You may get lucky and see a third flush, but we recommend reloading your BoomBox after the second harvest.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY ORDER?
We only ship on Mondays due to the perishableness of our products and in order to get your the freshest product. Grain bags are sensitive to heat and we do not want your grain bag to spoil during shipping. Place your order before midnight on Saturday to have it ship on Monday via local delivery (Denver Metro only!), FedEx Ground or FedEx Overnight. If your order has not arrived by the estimated delivery date, please contact us.
We are a small company, with all of our products being made by hand, in-house. This allows us to maintain the highest quality products possible, and helps us keep our prices low—but does occasionally result in a slightly longer wait time. We also anticipate that during sales it might take longer than normal to receive orders. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Yes! FedEx Overnight shipping is available to ensure that your products arrive on the day after we ship (aka Tuesday because we ship on Mondays only). We also offer two-day delivery within the Denver Metro area.
IS SLOWER (AKA CHEAPER) SHIPPING AVAILABLE?
Yes! FedEx Ground (3-5 day) shipping is available, as well as two-day Denver Metro area delivery.
IS LOCAL PICK-UP AVAILABLE?
While we do not offer local pick-up, we do offer $10 local two-day delivery within the City and County of Denver. If you are in the Mile High, save some money and time by choosing Local Delivery at check out. You can also find our products at these fine Colorado stockists.

Colonizing is when the mycelium eats and grows on its substrate.
WHAT IS SUBSTRATE?
Substrate is the food or material used to grow the mycelium.
